The City that Never Sleeps (even after a big meal!)

So far this summa-summa-summatime, Mother Nature's PMS prevented me from logging in substantial citywandering and subsequent citypicturetaking, so when it was overcast, I overlooked the city for more local funtivities, and when it downright downpoured, I don't even think I left my bed. Fortunately, my laziness was trumped by my desire to do something/anything, so I eventually slipped on my sneakers/loafers, popped in my earbuds, pressed play on my iPod, and started walking... finger grazing the shutter button in search of that perfect (ie good enough) photo opportunity. Watch out en-why-cee!!!
Youths watching pro athletes playing soccer in Chinatown. F the police!
Meeting up with friends down in St. Mark's for dinner and bubble tea. I was wearing a tie for a previous engagement at the Waldorf Astoria. I don't typically dress up thusly to consume sake and chicken wings. (editor's note: that 'pocket square' was actually the super-fancy towelette from the Waldorf Astoria's lobby restroom. DON'T TELL ANYONE!)
After dropping a friend off at the subway, I immortalized a few moments in photoform. I was across the street acting like I was changing songs on my iPod when I took this one of a man cooling off on his workbreak.
Sometimes the best 'look' is the look of love when you look into each other's eyes and you smile. Lame.
Oh yeah, don't mind me. And don't leave me alone in a hotel room with a fluffy white robe, fluffy huge bed, and a camera with a self timer.
Jumping up and down.
Calm after the chaos: Entrance of the Waldorf's Grand Ballroom. 600 pilipino doctors and their spouses can raise ruckus when they don't get their table place cards in a timely manner. I have the emotional scars from the verbal lashings to prove it.
I know 'black tie' infers tuxedo, but since we don't have/don't want to get a tux, we just wore black ties with our suits. Good enough, I say. In this pic set in the Ballroom, some Antonio men posing with Golda, a family friend/songstress.
The enchanted evening started with dancing, then dinner, then dancing, then dancing, then at 9:30, The Lettermen performed (in tagalog as well!) for the masses. Their brand of showmanship has definitely been lost throughout the ages. Of course the docs danced all the while as The Lettermen crooned the night away!
